Art has always been a major influence in Jeanetta's life. She studied Fine Art at Sam Houston State University, winning many art competitions and was awarded summa cum laude. Mentored by the State Artist of Texas, Harry Ahysen, and Professors Jimmy Barker and Kenneth Zonker, all who helped her develop her distinctive style.

Color inspires Jeanetta. She relishes the qualities of contrast and subtlety and her art reflects that. She uses its power to entice, envelop, and create dramatic expression. Jeanetta's paintings make viewers feel the wind, rain, heat or chill. It is Jeanetta's greatest pleasure to present color on canvas that causes the viewer to pause and reach into one's heart and soul.
